Shift Manager
A shift manager can be a server or bartender. This position will take on responsibilities in addition to the duties of a serving or bartender.
○ These sections will be based on the server’s ability to perform their job up to the standards of ThaiPop.
○ Handle food and liquor comps/voids appropriately and in a timely manner
○ If you have questions regarding whether or not to comp or void an item please consult with the Bar Manager or General Manager
○ Be in direct communication with FOH staff if any changes to procedures are made.
○ If any procedures change General Manager or Bar Manager will communicate these with the leads directly to ensure clear communication.
○ Directly communicates with the BOH regarding the operations of the FOH
○ Large parties arriving, unscheduled groups (i.e Party bus), sections turning, etc.
○ Anything that would impact the kitchen’s ability to prepare food in a timely manner.
○ Floor lead will be in charge of server cut times.
○ Based on open communication with the host regarding reservations statuses, large groups and the overall movement of the floor.
○ If two shrift managers are on, they both must agree on how to cut staff.
○ Shrift managers will be considered the closers unless otherwise communicated to management.
○ Shrift managers will be in charge of all server check outs and host, busser checklists as well.
○ Ensure cut staff member has completed all their required tasks per the checklist
○ Booth seats and topical cleanliness are very important to stay consistent on.
○ Floor lead will be in charge of training all new staff members.
○ ThaiPop Policies and Procedures
○ Food/Drink knowledge
○ Floor operations
○ Up selling
○ Merchandise
○ Ensure that all FOH staff clock out to ensure accurate labor reflections
○ Ensure all safety protocols are enforced
○ Ensure Sound volume in restaurant is at an appropriate level
○ AM lead will communicate directly with PM lead regarding any issues applicable to the operations of the business.
○ Restocking
○ 86 list
○ Problems/issues
○ Communicate directly with the General Manager regarding any customer complaints or any other issues that impact the restaurant and the business
○ Gather guest information if a complaint takes place so that the General Manager can follow up with each guest
○ Staff complaints
○ Equipment complaints
○ Building complaints (leaks, fixes, guest feedback)
○ Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Certification Skill and Abilities:
Required:HS Diploma/GED or equivalent experience. Computer Based- cash handling systems experience required. Preferred at least one year of management experience in retail or similar style restaurant; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to speak, read and write proficiently in English.

o Able to manage projects in a timely and efficient manner

o Able to develop and implement standard operating procedures
o Able to complete multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
o Be proactive, creative and the ability to bring forward new ideas.
Required Training:
o POS training, internal and external
o Any position-related training as determined by General Manager
Physical Demands
o Must be able to walk and/or stand and sit for long periods throughout the day
o Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
o Must be able to reach and twist occasionally
o Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects occasionally
o Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds occasionally
o Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
o Must have good hand-eye coordination
Working Environment
Office, restaurant and some off-site venues for catering and events. May have loud music or noise and warm and cold conditions. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays.
